I wanted to create a column chart to be able to compare the sales per quarter over different years. So along the X-axis I wanted it to list the quarters (ie Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4), and then I wanted different coloured bars for each year so that it would be an easy visual comparison. I'm so surprised to find that there does not seem to be anyway to do this. I can use the "Group By" option to group by Quarter, but then there's no way to show the years in different colours. The only way to get the different coloured bars in the same chart is to have multiple things in the Values section, but you can't put the same value in twice. I need to be able to put the same value (our sales amount) in mutiple times with different date filters. So I should be able to add one value as my sales total for 2025, and then add another value with my sales total filtered to 2026. Then I could Group By the quarter. That way I'd get 2 different coloured bars, one per year, and the quarters would show side by side. I'm really surprised there's no way to do this, I feel like this must be a chart type that people would want.
