Word wrap title in Kanban view
in progress

Please show the whole title! The title currently shows only about 22 characters then 3 dots. Hovering doesn't display the rest. You have to click into the record to see the entire title. Horrible for our intended use (Customer name + project name + date + Sales rep name)
I know we can make the card wider, but the entire title doesn't show up + then we can't see all the Kanban columns we need to see. So, it's not a good workaround.

Any update on this? Would be great to have the option to allow Title text to wrap on kanban view

Hello! The feature we need in our team is a possibility to make the title field not to wrap up long text in Kanban view because L card size is still not enough to look at the whole title.
Would appreciate your modification of the issue.

Hello Даниил Хромушкин! I have a few more questions for you:
- Could you please provide more details on how you would like the title field to behave when it contains long text?
- Can you share some examples of the types of titles that are currently being cut off in the Kanban view?
- How often does your team encounter this issue with long titles in the Kanban view?

Jon Darbyshire Hi and sorry for late reply! I use kanban view for weekly planning and my Titles almost always are long (which maybe is not supposed to be so for Title field but still it is in my case). So as other guys mentioned here I need to aim cursor on the text in order to have pop up with full Title otherwise it is only around 44 letters visible, which is not enough for quick look through. I attach Airtable view of the same structure which I used previously (but nevertheless I decided to switch to SmartSuite-haha) which suits me 100%, and the view of the button to turn this function on (airtable also wraps up text in the title by default). Thank you in advance!

This has been in progress for over a year now.
Any news/ETA when this might be coming?

Could I get an ETA on this? We paused development toward this end because this is such an important requirement (and we don't have a workaround). Thanks.

Hey Jeff Eusebio, thank you very much for this.
Just wanted to let you know that your request has been taken into account and we'll roll this out as soon as we can :) Cheers.

Stoyan Daskaloff • Design Lead @ SmartSuite: Thank you Stoyan. The hover is functional but there's a big productivity hit vs. a word wrap. Our use case: our Interior Design team has a Kanban board with new project requests. Some customers have multiple projects going at once. If the Designers and the reps actually have to mouse over and hover to see the full name of a project (on a screen showing 40 projects at once), they will kill me.
P.S. I tried using a formula field to duplicate the Title, but a formula field also does not word wrap. If you think there would e a problem showing the entire title, a workaround would be to word-wrap the formula field instead.

Jeff Eusebio: Thank you for clarifying. We will discuss internally, we had played in the past with word wrap and also a possibility for different font-size which will allow fitting more characters there.
I'm also curious to hear your thoughts on the following. Is it going to help if hovering over the entire card (but not only over the title) shows the tooltip or it's just going to be just less frustrating and still not solving the issue for you ?

Stoyan Daskaloff • Design Lead @ SmartSuite: Perhaps a bit less frustrating but wouldn't solve the issue. Finding the right project by scanning with your eyes is just so much faster than mouse-over hovering. I played around with changing how we display the information i.e. listing customer name, project name, date, sales rep in separate fields, but that makes the card much taller so you end up with much less on the screen, and end up scrolling much more to find the right project. Just to reiterate the formula field suggestion -- if that one could word wrap that would take care of the need.
