Sorting items and Sort By field

Currently the items are sorted randomly and no option to order them. 
Need to sort the items and flip between Ascending/Descending, also be able to select the field to "Sort By" 
* Also tried to sort the records in the grid view, but it didn't reflect on the chart.

Great to hear your perspective, Nica Stapel! I have a few more questions for you:

What criteria should be used to determine the "strongest" and "weakest" bars?
Would you like the sorting feature to be applied automatically or manually?
Is there a specific order you prefer for the sorted bars, such as ascending or descending?

Adrienne McCue I had to make it clearer in the title that I mean items in the charts. Check this example 👇 (couldn't sort the months of a formula type that outputs a number from MONTH() function )
