Sometimes I have a field column name longer than the column data takes up to help me keep track of what the field is actually doing. When the fields are compressed to their data size then you can not read the column name because the column name gets truncated. It would be nice if when i hover on the column name the full name of the field would appear in a popup. Ideally it would be great if there could be two helps for each field. One for the user, and one for the developer and this could be toggled either way in the grid view. That way the dev-help could be the explanation of what the field is used for or in case of a formula what the calculation is doing. This functionality could also solve the long field name problem. Managing lots of solutions and tables is difficult. It would be good if Smartsuite could start providing better development management tools. For example it would be nice if in a document view I could place a widget that would display a list of all of the fields in a table along with each fields help contents and have the help editable. I do a lot of process flowcharts in document view and it would be really handy to have a list block that displays selected field names from a table and the flow chart lines could connect to each line in the list block. I am sure developers could come up with dozens of ways smartsuite could provide tools to make development more manageable.
