A hosted MCP server lets any MCP-compatible assistant, such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, IDEs and agent frameworks, connect to a SmartSuite workspace with a single URL and an OAuth sign-in, with nothing to install. The assistant acts strictly as the signed-in user: it can only see and change what that person could, the user chooses read-only or read-write access and which workspaces are covered, and every change is recorded in the activity log under both the person and the assistant. Workspace data is presented in terms a model can reason about, with readable field labels, choice labels, linked record titles and SmartDocs as markdown.
