Sign In with Microsoft (Office 365 Authentication)

When we try to sign in using Microsoft, the authentication seems to be tied to live.com rather than office 365. So, when we enter our office 365 email address, we get an error saying the account doesn't exist. Either the Sign In feature needs repair or the advertised feature of logging in with Office 365 should be corrected.

In a professional setting, supporting accounts from organizational directories (any Azure AD directory) is important. When registering an application in Azure AD, it is possible to select "Accounts in any organizational directory (Any Azure AD directory - Multitenant) and personal Microsoft accounts (e.g. Skype, Xbox)" instead of just "Personal Microsoft accounts only" (for the "social" accounts). However, I don't know how SmartSuite performs the authentication at the moment.

Brad, thanks for pointing this out. The login supports Microsoft's public ("social") accounts via live - I'm making a note to change the icon on the login button and update help articles that reference Office 365.

Peter Novosel: Thanks for the quick reply. I was hoping you would go the other way. It would be better if Microsoft would provide a unified id service but until that happens, perhaps an alternative would be to add another login button for Office 365 instead? :-)

I will move this topic under Feature Requests section where community can upvote for it.

Artem Kunytsia: Thanks. So, I think you might consider these as two issues. In the plan features, you describe this feature as "Office 365 Authentication" but what Peter Novosel said is that the login link is actually using Microsoft's live.com social authentication endpoint. There is a disconnect between what your marketing as a feature and what's actually implemented. I realize the easiest thing to do is change the marketing material but I would suggest the intent was probably to make logging in more convenient for customers who use Office 365. Either way, it's two issues -- implementation and/or marketing updates. Cheers.

Peter Novosel: The pricing page https://www.smartsuite.com/pricing still references Office 365 Authentication. Just spent 10 minutes looking around for where I might enable it until I remembered this old post here, that it's just a misleading entry at this point.
