Would like to schedule a specific date and time to send an email from a record.

One use case is as a reminder regarding that record.

Already possible, go to the solution, select automations, set a trigger for a specific time. Set the action for the trigger to be send an email (either from gmail or via smartsuite).

Lao Kemper: That's a good work-around to accomplish the same result but I'm looking for the option to do it within the communications center, similar to how Gmail has the option to schedule an email at a future date/time.
