Permissions on Shared View

It would be great to have permissions beyond the "view only / read only" option that we have now when a solution or view is shared. We use this a LOT with clients in Jotform and Airtable and it would be a gamechanger to have.
Permissions such as:
Commentor: Can leave a comment but cannot edit records
Editor / Collaborator: Can edit records and leave a comment, but cannot configure tables or fields
See the attached examples for inspiration from airtable and jotform on the different ways this could be done!

Thank you for posting, Hannah Travers! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more details on the types of data your clients need to view and edit?
- What specific features from Airtable and Jotform's permission settings do you find most useful?
- Are there any additional permission levels not mentioned in your request that you would find beneficial?

Jon Darbyshire thanks for the response and request for additional details!
1.
Q: Can you provide more details on the types of data your clients need to view and edit?
A: Having the ability to comment, in addition to view, saves us hours and hours of back and forth communication outside of the workflow. It keeps everything neat and tidy and data specific. Additionally, Editor capabilities are sometimes needed to update the shared data so that it reflects the clients desires, again, without additional conversations needing to be had. I share it, they update it, I've got what I need and everything is communicated clearly. Sometimes I also have outside contractors checking on specific fields in a table, so for example, a photo booth assistant is double checking with the customers that their e-mail is correct, and I need them to be able to see the entire shared view but only be able to update that specific field. It would be amazing if it could get that granular, but at the moment Editor permissions need to be given to get that work done.

Q: What specific features from Airtable and Jotform's permission settings do you find most useful?
A: Aside from the Commentor and Editing permissions, (especially with Jotform) the ability to assign an email to the shared link is very useful. So I can assign permissions, Read Only / Commentor / Editor and then share that invitation via E-mail. ( see attached image for reference from Jotform ) They are then invited to start a free account and engage if the level of permissions are above read only.

Q: Are there any additional permission levels not mentioned in your request that you would find beneficial?
A: If I think of additional permissions I'll update this. But right now, one scenario that comes to mind is for someone interacting with our shared data that could use their own workflow. So giving them the ability to just move the fields into the order they want to ( create their own read only, commentor or editor view ) and save it would be amazing for them.
