List of Tags

Tags are critical for finding records. We need a global (all-solutions) tag management system with the following considerations:
Color-coding for tags: Many users prefer color tags for quick visual identification.
Tag filtering by solution/app: With a global tag system, the list of available tags could become unwieldy. There should be a way — such as a checkbox, dropdown, or automatic filtering — to limit the visible tags to only those associated with the current app or solution.
Advanced tag search with AND logic:
It must be possible to search for records that match multiple tags simultaneously (using an AND operator, not just OR).
Example:
In a recipe app, key ingredients like chicken, rice, and mushrooms are tagged.
When you search for “chicken” and apply an AND association, only records that also have other tags associated with “chicken” would remain visible.
In this case, the available secondary tags might narrow to just rice and mushrooms (tags that commonly co-occur with chicken).
As users select tags, the system should dynamically narrow the remaining tag options to reflect only those related to the already-selected tags.

Any update on this? The tags are messy the way they are just now with no proper way to manage them. I have duplicate tags, mistyped tags and unable to edit or delete them.

Some tags need to be accessible across solutions while others are specific to solutions. Maybe have a global tag manager.

I use a program called ActiveCampaign, and they have a section to Manage Tags, where you can edit the tags (such as renaming) and see how many times the specific tags are used with the option to click that number and see where they were used.
You can also filter the list and merge tags together (an example may be where two tags were spelled slightly different from each other).

Paul Ricci: I like this concept and we will start thinking about how and where we could add this.

Paul Ricci I totally agree about the benefits of having a tag manager space to tidy up, merge, and delete tags.
