Kanban View: Column Grouping - Summary
Chee Yuen Chan
Currently the only available metric is a total "Count" of items of the column. It would be useful if this metric is customizable - for eg, it could be a total of a particular field, say the [Order Intake] - then we would be able to see the "Sum" of this field right at the column top of the Kanban View Column.
This is similar to bringing the "Footer Bar" of Grid View to Kanban View, but bring it to the top instead!

Hey Chee Yuen Chan, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide examples of other fields, besides [Order Intake], that you would like to see as a metric in the Kanban View?
- How would you like the system to handle fields that are not numerical in nature?
- Would you find it useful to have the ability to switch between different metrics on the Kanban View, or would you prefer to set a single metric per column?

Jon Darbyshire hi Jon! Thanks for the quick response!
- This metric is basically numerical in nature, could be Count, Average, etc. It’s based on a particular field selected . I’m thinking similar to the functions of the footer bar of the grid view will suffice.
- For me, there isn’t a need to display non numerical fields, as the metric aims to give a summary- usually associated with numbers.
- Good question! Ability to select and change the metric ACROSS the Kannan board was what I envisioned it to be. However if there’s a further flexibility to specify a different metric (hence different field), I think it’ll be truly wonderful too!
Thanks Jon for listening!
