Heading height row

Smartsuite lets you increase the height of record rows, but strangely enough, the height of the column header row is fixed. What's the point of a column header if you can't read the text? If you have a lot of columns, you'll want to keep the column width small, but still be able to find your way around the table and easily read the column headings. If you have to click on all the columns to find the one you're looking for, you're wasting a lot of time...
We'd therefore need to increase the line height of column headers

This is needed. There are a couple of other feature requests for this:

I think I requested this in another thread but called it something like “the ability to wrap text in the header”. Essentially the same thing.
So if the header was longer than the cell data entry the header could wrap around.
For example: the header was 20 characters long and made up of four words, but the cell data was a simple multi-select and the longest possible answer was only 10 characters, instead of having to waste screen real estate to make the header readable, the column can be reduced to fit the longest data entry (and the cell data does wrap already if needed) and the header simply wraps to match the size and remains readable.
Does that match the OP’s request?
Is that doable?

Brad Hawkins this is indeed another way to say it, I agree ! Both our requests are the same !

Great to hear your perspective, Nica Stapel! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more details on how you would like the increased line height to affect the overall layout of the table?
- Are there specific column headers where this issue is more prevalent?
- Would you find it helpful if there was an option to customize the line height of column headers according to your preference?

- What I have in mind (perhaps for lack of imagination) is more or less the same as Excel: you choose the width and height of the header "cell".
- No, not especially. It's obvious to me that you need to be able to read a column title without having to click, if you don't want to get lost in a table. This applies to all columns.
- Yes absolutely
