Filter Widget in Publicly Shared Dashboards

Great idea and much needed please.
It would be beneficial to have the option to enable or disable filters for each publicly shared dashboard and even at the individual tab level.
EDIT: On further thought it might be best as an option per Filter Widget within the widget settings. Similar to how you can show a grid or calendar view's report toolbar to members or not within the view's settings. Have an option to show or not show the filter widget publicly.
Example One: Showing Filters Publicly
We need to create a multi-tab dashboard for a partner. On the Home tab, we want to include a Filter Widget that allows them to filter all views in the other tabs (e.g., selecting a client name filters all tabs to show only that client's information). In this case, the filter widget should be visible when the dashboard is shared so our partner can interact with it.
Example Two: Hiding Filters Publicly
For subcontractors, we need dashboards that display only their assigned jobs. We use a Linked Record field instead of the standard Assign field and want to prevent subcontractors from seeing jobs assigned to others. To do this, we plan to create a template dashboard that we can duplicate for each subcontractor. The filter widget will be used to customize each dashboard, but it should remain hidden when shared with subcontractors to avoid distractions.
Example Three: Filters Required at Tab Level
In addition to the previous example, subcontractors need filter widgets on other tabs to filter their jobs by area, month, status, etc. We need one hidden filter widget on the Home tab that filters all tabs for the subcontractor, while also providing visible filter widgets on other tabs for their use.

Agreed. I provide our clients with individual dashboards showing their year to year budgets and it would be great for them to be able to select which fiscal year data that would like to view, preventing the need to manually update 15 dashboard views every year.

Please allow filter widget in public dashboards

The filter widget would be a game changer in public dashboards so that we can turn off the toolbar in things like card and grid views and avoid the chaos of allowing public viewers that level of access. Right now the filter widget does NOT show in a public view.
