When working with Grid and Card Views , add a keyboard shortcut of "Command + G" to instantly collapse and expand all groups - in the same way that this can be done from within the Grouping toolbar control.

Jon Darbyshire: It would be convenient if the option to "Collapse All" could be accessed from the main window menu when the Toolbar Row is not visible.
