Currently, SmartSuite's automation system only recognizes changes at the parent record level, making it impossible to trigger automations when fields within Sub-Items are modified (such as toggling a Yes/No field).

This limitation significantly reduces the power of Sub-Items for workflow automation. In my specific use case, I need to send customized emails based on the unique data in each Sub-Item record when a Yes/No toggle is switched within that Sub-Item. The current workarounds using formula fields at the parent level don't allow for this level of granularity.

Adding the ability to trigger automations directly from field changes within Sub-Items would unlock powerful new workflow possibilities, such as:

Sending notifications when sub-tasks are completed

Updating related records when sub-item statuses change

Triggering approval processes for individual line items

Creating follow-up tasks based on specific Sub-Item modifications

This enhancement would greatly improve the flexibility of SmartSuite for managing complex, hierarchical data workflows and would be extremely powerful.
