Document Designer - Reports with Dynamic Charts (& dynamic images)
John Mackenzie
Document Designed is a powerful drop and drag builder. A limiting factor when developing reports (PDF generator triggered) is there are no charts/graphics or images that would vastly improve the capability.
Many businesses have needs to develop proposals or reports that present either industry, historical, or current data. The best way to present this information to their customer/s is via charts/graphics and images.

Add option for dashboard / graphs to document designer

We would love to have the ability to generate PDF documents containing current performance graphs. Specifically, we want our clients, stakeholders, and contractors to easily generate and receive PDFs with various performance graphs and metrics. Ideally in our case, this feature would allow:
- One-click PDF generation from our portal, providing instant access to up-to-date performance data in static / sharable format.
- Automatic email distribution of these PDFs on a weekly or monthly basis.
Many of our partners appreciate live dashboards but often request PDF versions for easy sharing with others. This enhancement would streamline the process of sharing performance insights, improving transparency and communication with all involved parties.

Hiya lorenzo, thanks for this post! I have a few more questions for you:
- Could you specify which performance metrics and graphs are most important to include in these PDFs?
- What level of detail would you like these PDF reports to have? For example, do you want them to include a summary, detailed breakdown, etc.?
- Would you like to have the ability to customize the content of these PDFs or should the content be standardized?

- I'd say, include all the charts that the SmartSuite dashboard view currently offers.
- Simply adding these charts with titles and free text/image elements, similar to the current records document designer, would be sufficient. It should also be possible to define filters for these graphs individually, just like in SmartSuite's dashboard feature.
- Like the document designer, it would be great to have the same flexibility in terms of placement on a fine grid, allowing us to add text, images, and shapes freely. Essentially, I am requesting to combine the power of SmartSuite's dashboard creation feature with the document designer.
