Choose Spotlight Field

A minor change in how Spotlight works could make it much more useful.
A lot of the time when we would like to spotlight a field, we have in mind more complicated criteria than the Spotlight tool accepts.
Sometimes we would like to compare two different fields (e.g. we have two date fields and want to highlight if one is sooner than the other), validate input (i.e. highlight a text field red if it does not contain 8 characters), or just highlight one field based on the value of a different field. This and more is possible using conditional formatting in Google Sheets or Excel.
It would make the Spotlight tool much more useful if we could specify which field(s) to highlight (like in Google Sheets), instead of it having to be the field in the condition.
This would open up the possibility of using a formula field in the condition while highlighting a different field, making Spotlight criteria as flexible as the formula field.

I fully agree with this. There have been many times I've wanted to call out certain cells of data, but have no tools to do so.
