Archive solutions with exclusion from power search

I would like to have the ability to archive a solution so that it doesn't appear in the solutions list. Additionally, it would be beneficial if there was an option to exclude archived solutions from power search results.

One way we use SmartSuite is as a database solution to manage linked client and employee data for various programs we contract with. Some of these contracts require data retention for up to ten years. At year end, we have been cloning these solutions, locking them from further editing, and labeling them by year; both for backup purposes as well as to have a snapshot of where we were as a business at that time (linked records change over the years and the edit history only goes so far). With that being said, when cloning the solutions this way, you end up having 1. A mess of solutions and 2. Duplicate info in power search that can get confusing. As far as criteria and ability to unarchive, I think the user should have the freedom to easily archive and unarchive as they see fit. I hope that feedback helps.

What criteria would you use to decide which solutions should be archived?
