Adding record in filtered view applies the filtered fields to record

When clicking "+ New Record", the fields from the view you're in are already selected

When adding a new record (using the '+ New Record' button) when you're inside a certain view, the record takes over the filters/fields from the view you're in.
Example: if the view is filtered on a specific 'assignee' and a 'select' field and you add a new record into the view, the record is automatically assigned to that specific assignee and the 'select' type has already been selected as well, rather than having to manually fill in the assignee and select.
Especially useful for a Card View, where you don't have the 'shift enter' shortcut for a new record -- that would also be very useful btw :)

Adding a record in a filtered *Calendar* doesn't apply the records

Currently if I have a filter (ie: "where Department is Marketing") in a Grid view, I can create a new record and have that Department automatically applied. However, this does NOT happen in Calendar view, so immediately after a record is created in a filtered calendar view, it disappears.
Can we fix this so that filters are applied when a new record is created from the Calendar view?

Hey Caleb Cook, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more details about the steps you take when creating a new record in the Calendar view?
- Are there any specific filters that you frequently use when this issue occurs?
- Does this issue occur every time you create a record in the Calendar view or only under certain conditions?

Jon Darbyshire I've tried Assignee, Select, and Linked Record fields.
Currently between the Grid, Calendar, and Card views, only the Grid view will autofill a field with filtered values
if filters are strict
(ie "is exactly" instead of "is any of")Here's a screen recording of the behavior happening as expected with a Grid view, but not happening in other views (I tried Card and Calendar as well)

Jon Darbyshire also on that note - I would love for the filters to still apply if the filter is "is any of" and only has one option selected. That's how Airtable operates - if my view filter is "
Department
is any of Marketing
" it will still populate "Marketing" by default in that view because it's the only option in the filter. The only time that Airtable doesn't populate the filter is if I supply more than one option for the "is any of" filter, which makes sense.D

Hey Jon Darbyshire:
- It happens every time: whenever I click on the 'New record' button I have to fill in every single field manually, even if I'm inside a specific view and then click the button. The same goes for when I click on '+' at the bottom of a table view for example: the record doesn't auto-fill in the fields that were used as a filter for the view. See attachment: I've created a view with 2 filters: priority = urgent & assignee = me. Whenever I'm in this view and I want to add a new task below, the record disappears because it's not meeting the requirements of the filter. It would be really helpful if the record would automatically have the required fields for the filter filled in, so it won't disappear.
- For me personally I'd like it to be always on, but I'm not sure others would agree. So making it optional would be better I think.
- I'd like all the fields that were used as a filter for that specific view to be auto-filled.
Let me know if you need any additional info :)

Hey Danique Hooijschuur, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more details about the frequency of this issue? Does it happen every time you add a new record or only in certain circumstances?
- Could you clarify if you would like this feature to be optional or always on?
- Are there any other fields you would like to be auto-filled when creating a new record from a specific view?

This feature has been implemented.
Please note that we the system would not be able to fill the values in all the time. It does work with strict filters.
Ex:
- Status is To Do - will be pre-filled in
- Status is none of To Do - will not be pre-filled in

I just experienced this. I have a simple filter on and created a new record. I didn't see it. So I created it again. And again, several times. It then occurred to me that it didn't receive the filtered data so it was not visible in the current filtered view. Sure enough, I cleared the filter and found those records. I'm not sure if this is the expectation of most people, but I thought the records would be visible in the filtered view.
