Add tasks from MyWork to an app

New task in "My work" - optional solution should like to the actual solution

Not only do I think this is counterintuitive, but it requires you to leave my work to create a task in your solution of choice - breaking the flow you're supposed to be getting from using a central location in the first place.

Great to hear your perspective, David Monahu! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide more details about the specific tasks you are trying to create in 'My Work'?
- Could you elaborate on the flow disruption you experience when creating a task in the solution of choice?
- What improvements would you suggest to make the task creation process more intuitive and seamless?

Jon Darbyshire Hi John, thank you for your response :)
- I'm using SmartSuite for everything essentially. So the tasks are a combination of personal to-do's and tasks related to client services and general small business operations. When creating them from 'My Work" they're generally less planned but nonetheless need to be recorded.
- The flow disruption is leaving 'My Work" and heading into a specific solution to create a task, since the tasks created in 'My Work" do not "appear" in a solution if that's where they are created and there is one assigned to them.
- It sounds like the improvements and updates that are on the cards for the "My Work" section are going to make a big difference and I can only assume that it's intended to be used as someone's primary view (similar to the "everything" or home views in Clickup), but I think the simplest thing would be to make it so a task created from my work and assigned a solution is "in" the solution. I think this would be beneficial for users who are making the most of duplicating solutions per client/project etc.

The advantage of this idea is I can use My Work as a place to add quick thoughts/ideas/todo's. I have many Solutions. I don't want to stop and think about where it goes and then search to find the appropriate solution/app. I'll lose ideas before while thinking about where they should go. I just need to get the idea down and move on.
If I add it in My Work, I am forced to deal with it because, although I use Kanban as a visual, I use My Work to monitor due dates, overdues, etc.
I need to assign tasks I create in My Work to Solutions.

Just wanted to add a +1 here, Avi Hercenberg. I try to work out of MyWork, but I find myself overlooking tasks that aren't in my "Tasks" app. Being able to convert these "quick adds" to full records would be huge.

100%. I use My Tasks only as Reminders at the moment. But even in ClickUp, I can turn a reminder into a task and move it to appropriate Space (Solution).

Yes...it was very confusing to me that I created a task in "my work" and it didn't show up anywhere else. I guess that's just designed for one-off tasks that we want to do, that we'll never want to see again. These need to show up in a solution and app.

I have the same requirements. For me, often ideas come to my mind I will create them as tasks in MyWork - this serves as a Notebook to capture them all. When they are ready to become real tasks, they should be able to be moved to Solution -> App, and can be automatically removed from the MyWork area.
Also even though I can assign these tasks to a Solution - when I actually visit the solution, these Personal Tasks are nowhere to be found within the Solution - becos they are not sorted into any apps at all.
Hence if any of these tasks are completed, they remain visible under MyWork - though associated with the Solution - but are not showing up as completed tasks when viewing the Solution.
Kinda confusing....

And: would be nice to link MyWork tasks back to other records, ie., link a MyWork task, or checklist task, to a meeting record - to review tasks.
