Add Followers to a Record

As an Admin, I would like the ability to open a record and add members of my SmartSuite workspace to follow the record.
Asana has this functionality where you are able to add other members of collaborators, and they will all be notified when things change inside of the task.

We too would like this to be an option.
I just had a discussion with Brian on the support chat as our use case requires this to be possible.
At present followers can "Opt in" to follow a record, but we need certain people to be able to track/be notified on record updates without being an "assignee".
Admins should be able to utilise the followers feature on behalf of teams/members to make sure things don't get missed and not rely on teams manually choosing to receive notifications/updates on a particular tasks that they are maybe overseeing but not necessarily assigned to.
This could be done by creating additional "Assigned to" fields, but across all solutions and apps, it becomes a difficult administration exercise.
Additionally, this as an automated action would also be needed.
When trigger happens
Update record
Add as follower -> choose team/member
That way you can control conditions that would then start this behaviour
E.g. when a task is 75% complete, add follower so that they can start reviewing the content.
A system wide control of this type of scenario would be much more convenient than a manually created one per app/solution

Jeff Eusebio thank you for this request as well. We are really glad that our community is helping us make SmartSuite better and better.
Would you share your thought on the attached design ? The idea here is to keep the "Follow" approach for regular users as we already have it, but to provide the ability to let the admins and solution owners follow records on the behalf of any other member. And also show how many members are following the record with a little badge next to the icon.

Here's one of our uses cases for consideration: Bug Tracking for a newly upgraded web app. There's 9 people in the project, any one of them can create a record (representing a bug) and they have the ability to choose who that bug would be of interest to (saving the time sending them a emails about it). They can add them as Collaborators directly, or if they @mention them in Description, they will be added as Collaborators automatically. It's very quick, easy, and efficient. If this ability was restricted to me as the Admin, it would only be used when I submitted a bug, which would make no sense.
Suggestion for the design of the badge. Use the icons you've already created for each user and display a max of 5. If there are more assigned, allow hover over to see all or drill in to manage.
