Ability to make fields required, read only or hidden across sections

Currently, we need to choose fields that we need to hide and put them all in one section and make the section hidden. Most often that is not how we plan our layout, we end up placing fields based on roles and section that each role needs to access. Out of them, some might need to be hidden, some might need to made required / read only. If we could have this capability, it would be amazing.

Hey Prathima M, thanks for your feedback! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide examples of the types of roles that would need different access to fields?
- Could you clarify what you mean by 'placing fields based on roles'?
- Are there specific fields that you frequently need to hide, make required, or read-only?

Jon Darbyshire thank you so much for your time and immediate response. let me answer them one by one. As you might have known, we have been doing implementations with Archer. When we arrange fields on the layout, we typically create sections based on the stages in the advanced workflow and based on who will have the action. For example, if I have a policy scenario where the policy owner created the workflow, and then submits it to the Governance team, I will want the policy owner to get the general information section. When he submits it to the governance, the governance section will be displayed only to the Governance team (In this case the governance team will be reviewing the policy 3 - 4 times after every person approves the policy) while doing so there are some fields that might be required, some that might not be required, there may be some fields that need to be hidden during the first review and need to be shown at the 2nd and 3rd reviews. So we will be arranging them under the governance section itself but showing them at various points in time. 90% of the time the requirement is such that we need to make many fields required at different stages based on who is reviewing the record at what points in time during the workflow. Hope I am answered your questions.
